An Atlantic flow keeps the weather changeable during the coming days. By the middle of next week a more settled period is expected as high pressure builds over the UK.

Thursday is off to a wet start in central and eastern England but brighter conditions will gradually return this morning. Western areas have a mix of sunny spells and showers throughout the day. This afternoon the showers spread eastwards.

Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in the north west to 22C (72F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight it becomes dry with clear spells in central and eastern areas. Across the west showers merge together to give more prolonged spells of rain. By the of the night it is likely to be very wet in northern Britain but clearer conditions should have returned to Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow rain in the north becomes showery. In southern and central regions a bright start is followed by a mix of sunshine and showers. It will be windy and cool.

Saturday brings similar weather but showers are likely to become focused on northern and eastern areas. In the west there will be an increasing chance of dry and sunny spells. Sunday should be dry in the south but wet weather spreads across much of the north and west.
