Fine and sunny for most

[Updated 06:45 15/08/2017]

Fair weather

An Atlantic flow will keep things mixed in the coming days. Next week high pressure may bring a more settled period of weather to much of the UK.

Tuesday begins with thundery showers in the south east and outbreaks of rain in parts Scotland. This morning the wet weather clears and sunny spells develop widely. During the afternoon most places remain dry and sunny but scattered showers are likely in the north.

Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north west to 24C (75F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

This evening the showers in the north fade away. During the night cloud spreads in from the west and wet weather returns to Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow outbreaks of heavy rain extend across much of the north and west of the UK. Central and eastern England should remain dry with warm sunny spells. Overnight the heavy rain pushes southeastwards and clearer conditions return from the west.

Thursday may start wet in the south east but drier conditions return quickly. The rest of the day brings sunny spells but there will be showers in the north.
