The outlook remains changeable. There will be some drier and warmer interludes, but all regions can expect wet weather at times through late July and early August.
Wednesday starts wet and windy in much of the west. Through the day persistent outbreaks rain spread eastwards and they will be heavy at times, especially in the north. This afternoon brighter conditions return from the west, but showers develop in western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in the far north to 21C (70F) in the west this afternoon when the sun returns. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight it becomes mostly dry and clear spells form. Late in the night heavy showers push into the west.
Tomorrow brings a mix of sunshine and heavy showers. During the morning most of the showers will be in the north and west, but through the afternoon they spread eastwards.
Friday brings more showers to the north and west, but eastern areas should be mostly dry. During the second half of the day another batch of wet weather spreads across western areas.
The weekend looks changeable. Dry and sunny periods are most likely in the south.
