Still no signs of the Sun here in Edinburgh but the sky to my south is now looking much brighter, and the temperature at 12 noon BST (11:00 UTC) was up to around 21°C here.

After a bright and sunny start it has suddenly gone completely overcast here. Still pretty warm. Perhaps this is why the models had lower temps to the south of London today.

32degC in shade outside now - and although there is a bit of wind it feels stagnant and oppressive in the garden. We are well used to tropical temperatures but this is noticeably unpleasant already. No sitting in the garden for us!

A pleasant Summer's day with hazy sunshine and the 23.5 C & 66% H feeling comfortably warm as winds continue to be a light onshore-type E breeze. It did reach 24.9 C at 12.30 pm but has crept down since.

I did think my gauge may be faulty but it does tally up with the 22 C at Langdon Bay.

I'm still waiting patiently for the Sun to appear from behind all of that cloud here in Edinburgh but that still hasn't yet happened and as at 2pm BST (13:00 UTC) this afternoon, absolutely nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Despite all of that cloud cover though, the temperature as at that same time had gone up to around 24°C here in Edinburgh and it's already also starting to feel very sticky and uncomfortable here.

The cloud's arrived here - quite odd to see it coming in from the west, while a SE'ly wind blows!

It's doing a wonderful job of keeping things a little cooler than they would otherwise be.

Mind you, it's still 26.7 (15.4 dew)... not a cold day by any means.

There was a little bit of brightness for a few very short periods of time during this afternoon but as at 7pm BST (18:00 UTC) this evening, a total of just 18 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank which would be seen as absolutely abysmal even in the middle of winter (so much then, for that nice and sunny weekend which we were supposedly going to be getting under high pressure).

Despite that lack of sunshine though, today was our second hottest day of this year so far and today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was exactly 26.0°C.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 7pm BST (18:00 UTC) this evening was around 23°C here in Edinburgh.

Also managed a peak of 26.3 C at 3.55 pm but humidity dropped down to the mid-50% by that point which caused DP to be 13 C.
