This morning and early afternoon brought us some decent sunny spells at times, although a total of just 3.5 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
However, it has since clouded over and there is a band of showers which has just moved in here, which is stretching out towards my SW from here as shown on the latest radar maps.
Indeed, it is raining just now though not all that heavily and it looks as though it is passing through quite quickly.
I'm not aware of any rain being forecast for here today, but that is something which is very badly needed here and so, I am more than happy to accept whatever rainfall we get whether that is expected or not.
As a result of that, the temperature here in Edinburgh has also dropped back from a peak of around 18°C at 12 noon to around 16°C as at 3pm BST (14:00 UTC) this afternoon which isn't even the least bit warm for this time of the year any more.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
