Hopefully an easy one for someone to point me to please.  I'm looking for some forecast models with precipitation charts that show southern Spain.  The gfs ones I can see are a bit small scale/far away on the view as they are set up for uk view really.  Ideally some short term hi-res like arpege would be handy too.

Cheers

The GFS has a Spain centred option too: https://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten.php?map=18&model=gfs&var=1&time=0&run=12&lid=OP&h=0&mv=0&tr=6

This is the ARPEGE option: https://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/arpege.php?map=310

The most localised ones are on meteologix, and they have all the models pretty much.

Eg this is total accumulated rain in Andalusia for the latest ECM run:

https://meteologix.com/uk/model-charts/euro/andaluca/accumulated-precipitation/20220709-1200z.html

Next week I reckon it’s top temperatures rather than rain you want to be looking out for.

You’re about to experience some aversion therapy. When are you there? From late next week they’re looking at mid 40s, possibly close to European records, for several days running.

Southern Spain is definitely NOT the place to be going in early July if you like rain and not dry heat. The Seville/Cordoba area has the highest average July temperatures anywhere in Europe. The coast is a lot cooler but that is only relative to inland and with a fierce sun this time of year, even coastal southern Spain is scorching in July.

I would guess that the Sierra Nevada mountains could hold some hope. Cooler at least with a risk of a thunderstorm or two?

Just looked out this page again in preparation for next trip.

Fwiw, Spain was 32 ish when we were there and Paris (our following weeks destination) was forecast to hit 40s or thereabouts, so we actually binned that part of the holiday. Paris ended up topping out at 41 or 42 I think by the time the actual dates came around, so think we made a good call binning it.

Research this time is just for clothes packing. No concerns over Temps. 🤣🤣🤣
