A pleasant 27C outside the office with some patchy high cloud. The warmest day of the year so far.

Hazy sunshine via more in the way of high cloud (seen a sun halo). A comfortable 22.8 C & 66% H, but no wind to speak of.

Still ideal garden chair conditions.

Today started off on a bright and sunny note with the temperature here in Edinburgh climbing to around 20°C by 1pm BST (12:00 UTC) this afternoon.

At that time, it had looked as though today would end up being our warmest day of this year so far.

However, it has also clouded over as the day was gone on with even a very spell of light and patchy rain and now, the temperatures are refusing to rise any further here and have dropped back to around 18°C as at 2pm BST (13:00 UTC) this afternoon.

It's actually a comfortable fresh feeling 19.8 C in sea breezes here on the coastal edge of Folkestone with high clouds occasionally making the sun appear watery.

After a little bit of a blip in the earlier part of this afternoon here in Edinburgh, the Sun is now back out (albeit with a lot of cloud still around) and the temperature at 5pm BST (16:00 UTC) this afternoon was back up to around 20°C.

Was such a lovely start to the day and enjoyed breakfast in the sun but didn't take it long to degenerate into rank grey poison yet again

An absolute joke when 8am is the warmest and sunniest part of the day.

Today is the very day that would have reached mid-20s in the past but the ridiculous cloud, that didn't appear constantly in the past, now prevents the temperature even reaching a modest 21C.

Not only did we have to endure overcast for almost the whole day but also a pointless period of drizzle that failed to even register

Turning into yet another depressing cloudfest summer month after such a good start. It's been an awful week so far plagued with cloud and very little sun.

Haven't had a mostly sunny day since the 5th.

HIDEOUS
