Morning all. Dry, fresh, calm and noticeably chilly on a starry morning. 8c. A few water stains where last nights pressure washer rain was blasted against our hillside home though. Be interested in the rainfall totals last night!

A chilly start to today with clear skies after some overnight rain, and with a ground frost at all three of my local stations.

Last night's cold front brought a total of 4.0 mm of rain to Edinburgh Gogarbank and 2.2 mm of rain to the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 1.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 1.3ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was around 5ºC here in Edinburgh.

Pleasant Autumnal sunshine where the current 12.0 C doesn't even feel that cold despite a mod NW breeze. 

1.4 mm rain in the form of back edge rain after my station 12 am reset. Had 12.6 mm in all from last night's rain event which isn't a lot but most of it came in the form of squally showers and doesn't include the 16 mm earlier on yesterday.

 The moon was beautiful this morning and the sky cleared here before it got light.  The temp dropped to 3.7c at 7.30 with the moon low in the clear sky.  A beautifully clear and sunny day with a cutting breeze but warm in the sun.
