Coolest of the past 5 days, thermometer reaching 27.2C. This was the 7th consecutive 25C + day which is laudable in any summer spell.

Now 24.0c

There is now a lot more sunshine around here in Edinburgh, but today has been much cooler than of late with a maximum temperature of just 20.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

In addition to that, there is still some easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea which looks set to pounce on us later on.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was around 18°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Always seems hotter in a place like that . I remember coming down from loch Buidhe in Sutherland a few years ago with the car thermometer reading 29-30 C  Surreal for that area

Sadly, our lovely sunshine during this evening didn't even last for very long, and yet more easterly muck is now flooding in from off the North Sea once again.

I wonder what the all time record for Keswick is?

Cooling down quicker here today, down to 20.6c , looks like low cloud tomorrow for a significant portion of the day.

The maritime air has well and truly made it up the Thames estuary. It’s 21C but with a bit of an easterly breeze and notably fresh. Meanwhile further west continues to swelter.

The office barbecue tomorrow looks dry, thank god. Busy morning getting everything ready to come but at least no worry about rain.

Don't know about Keswick Tim but I think Newton Rigg near Penrith has seen 33 C. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakes towns and villages have seen 32 C?

It was still 25 C in Keswick at 9.30pm! Honestly it's like a Mediterranean evening here with midges!

An amazing evening- just 5 hours ago temperature was 26C and it felt oppressive once again. Now it's 18C+ but falling quickly with a brisk, cool, drier sort of breeze and some amazing scudding clouds.

Some Ac castellanus looking, but not quite.

A lot more comfortable now but still humid - It's 22c with Alto cumulus casterallatus clouds, so we all know what this denotes!
