Here in Edinburgh, this morning has started off on a dull and much cloudier note than of late thanks to some easterly muck which has now came in from off the North Sea during the night as expected.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5am this morning was around 16°C here in Edinburgh.

Its nowhere on the scale of last years heat that saw 7 consecutive 30c + days.

This time round there's been 24,26,25,28,26 and probably another 27 today.

Sunny and a surprisingly warm feeling at 21.5°C due to the relatively high humidity.

The Sun has now broken through here in Edinburgh and the temperature at 2pm this afternoon was now up to around 23°C which is actually slightly warmer than yesterday despite all of that earlier cloud cover.
