What a week to be in the Lakes! Blue sky with temperatures over 25 C each day so far. Looks like we may reach 30 C + Wed & Thurs. A bit too hot for walking.

Another deep blue sky this morning

Here in Edinburgh, there are a few patches of cloud around but not enough to spoil the sunshine in any way and the temperature at 9am this morning was already at around 18°C here in Edinburgh.

A really nice day.

23.8c with unbroken sunshine but that dewpoint is a little too high for my liking at 18.9c.

Mainly sunny but there are some bubbly cumulus over them thar hills.

The 21.8 C would be very comfortable if it wasn't for the 80% humidity. Light winds.

I don't think that there would have been any easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea here in Edinburgh whilst I was down in the Scottish Borders due to the general wind direction over that period.

Now that I am back home though, that easterly muck has now made its return which is just typical of my luck!!

Up until now, this hasn't yet been enough to spoil the sunshine in any way here in the north of Edinburgh, but there is lot of that stuff out over on the Firth of Forth with little bits of it being blown in here at times which occasionally envelopes the top of Arthur's Seat.

There is a slight breeze from off the North Sea which I would imagine, would probably make it feel quite cool right on the coast itself.

Where I am in the north of Edinburgh, I am probably no more than several hundred yards further inland, but even that is enough for it to feel really hot in that sunshine when I'm out and about.

I would therefore imagine that other places such as the south of Edinburgh which are even further inland are bound to feel even hotter as a result.

Meanwhile, the temperature even here in the north of Edinburgh was around 21°C as at 12 noon.

But only 11C in Baltasound, so quite a temperature gradient to the north.

.. and of course, the fact that it is probably even hotter further inland from here (I know that Jerry isn't there just now, but Noodle Doodle also lives in roughly the same area as Jerry and may well be around to be able to tell us that) means that the temperature gradient to our north is probably even bigger than what you have suggested.

Wasn't expecting as early sea breeze was keeping it fresher than of late, but we just scraped 30C..

It's very humid today. One local weather station had a dewpoint of 21.1C not long ago.
