The latest rainfall data for Edinburgh Gogarbank (shown as station 1 below) and the botanic gardens in Edinburgh (shown below as station 2) is as follows:

Final Totals For May 2021: 97.4 mm (198.8 % of LTA) at station 1, 89.2 mm (182.4 % of LTA) at station 2
Number of Rain Days During May 2021: 14 (122.8 % of LTA) at station 1, 14 (145.8 % of LTA) at station 2
Number of Dry Days During May 2021: 9 at station 1, 7 at station 2

May 2021 was a wet month overall both in terms of the actual rainfall amounts and the number of rain days, but it wasn't as wet here as what it was in most other parts of the UK.

Final Total For The Spring: 150.6 mm (99.7 % of LTA) at station 1, 129.6 mm (91.8 % of LTA) at station 2
Number of Rain Days During The Spring: 26 (78.8 % of LTA) at station 1, 27 (95.4 % of LTA) at station 2
Number of Dry Days During This Spring So Far: 47 at station 1, 44 at station 2

Since May wasn't quite as wet here as it was elsewhere, Spring 2021 was slightly drier than average overall both in terms of the actual rainfall amounts and in terms of the number of rain days whereas most of the rest of the UK had a wet spring overall as a result of being that much wetter during May.

Meanwhile, the data for the whole of 2021 so far is unchanged from my last report here as there has been no further rainfall here since then.

LTA = 1981-2010 average for the month, season or year in question at the particular station in question.

All of this data has been taken from SEPA with each observation day starting and ending on 09:00 UTC on each day.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Final total for May here is 77.5mm  (182% average).    Wettest May recorded since 2014, and the 4th wettest May in the last 39 years here.

My total for Spring 2021 came to 108.5mm (89% average).  The third consecutive dry Spring recorded.
