An exceptionally cold and frosty start to today for this time of the year with an official air frost at all three of my local stations.


Indeed, last night was our coldest night since 12 February 2021 with the temperature at Edinburgh Airport going all the way down to -5°C.


That has taken us into yet another sunny morning with a total of 1.1 hours of sunshine already being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.


However, the temperature at 8am was still a very cold -2°C here in Edinburgh.


 

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Cloudy and it is now raining (1.4 mm so far). It is actually needed as things has been drying up quite markedly. 

A chilly 6.6 c & 91% h with a mod NE breeze adding to the chill.

Rather absurd two hour heavy snow shower has ended it is dazzling white.
Temperature fell to +0.3C but is already back to 2C

And on the other side of Kent it's 5.6C (dew 4.1) with light rain... 1.2mm so far and a gusty NE'ly wind.


The high today is 6.9C, which is unusually low - you can only get that low a max down here this time of year if the sun's obliterated all day long (which, of course, it has been so far).
