They are good for that job - all four wheels can be steered so you can do a crabbing action which he used to knock the big lumps down then clear out.
It has always drifted badly through there, in the past the council could take days to get around to clearing it with a conventional JCB tractor style digger or (even slower) once or twice sent a snowblower.
Now a lot of fairly standard farm kit plays with that sort of work.

Slightly surreal large drifts on fields already swept almost bare - sun today soon greened them completely.

I noticed that Balmoral was wettest in Britain yesterday at 32mm. That must have thawed a lot of snow on low ground but did it add to the snow total on the hills?

The Loch Morlich webcam - Loch Morlich Watersports — Webcam is showing the foothills of the Cairngorms with less snow.

Another windy day and 6C, so here there's a definite thaw on our local hills.

Always surprising just how fast snow can thaw

Wow! What a coincidence. A similar event happened near Banff on the North East coast of Scotland.

The last bit of snow higher up (which could be seen from the house) disappeared here yesterday, there are probably still a few patches in shade along the Cleveland Hills.
Drifts can survive into May along there fairly regularly
