At least the cracks have gone from my garden. The recent weather has sorted that out!
That’s the beauty so to speak Ian, we just don’t know what we are going to get. Perhaps this year, many rainy days may keep people inside which may help in the current circumstances and stop some infections.

11 flood warnings for England and Wales - surprised that's not worse given the totals of rainfall (and lots of less serious flood alerts) . Moatly from Oxford across to Gloucester https://www.floodalerts.com/

Yes I think given how dry it’s been the ground has been able to take all that water as it’s been steady rain, but not torrential.

Now we all know Oxfordshire has been pretty miserable all summer, especially with all that rain what with the moom'pocalypse. So i guess the ground was already rather saturated 😂 Whereas for the bulk of the south it's been very dry down here so the rain was just absorbed.

Yes despite 3 inches of rain or more since last Wednesday the ground isn't waterlogged at all

85mm here which is one of the largest three day totals since I've kept records. Amazing after missing all of the recent rain others got locally in the form of showers. It's about 2-3 months rainfall for here.
