This month has been fairly wet up until now in this part of the world, but the outlook according to the latest model output is now looking much more high pressure dominated than of late.

That would suggest a much drier outlook for here if that comes off, which means that the possibility of us getting our first drier than average month since May still can't be totally ruled out.

Now half-way through September and the monthly total to date is still 1.3mm.  Looks like being another well-below-average month for rainfall.

Still watering the garden, and I've used 10 cu. m. since the end of April, of which I estimate 7 cu. m. has gone on the garden.

6 days since the last post, must have been dry everywhere bar north west Scotland.

Still at 3mm for the month, although some forecasted showers from Wednesday, will they hit or miss?

We had 0.2 mm of rain at Edinburgh Gogarbank on 19 September, but that's been our lot here since I last reported anything at all on this thread.

Here in Edinburgh, we have finally managed to get a little bit of overnight rain, but that has only amounted to a total of just 0.8 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 0.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The general outlook may well be more unsettled now across the UK as a whole, but the GFS continues to show drier than average anomalies for this part of the world over the course of the next ten days.

With only a week left to go of this month after today, this month is therefore looking on course to be drier than average here in the end, despite the wet start to the month which we had.

As of this point we have just doubled our month's rain. September's total stands at 1.6mm however it is still raining so i expect this to rise.

Before today, we had received 1.8mm this month, at least one tip of the gauge was due to a heavy dew.

Today we've had 16.8mm including some heavy rain at about 4.10pm and another period of rain in the early hours. So that's bumped the monthly total up to 18.6mm, much needed.

Yesterday's rain brought to an end a period of 19 days without rain here (since the 4th Sept inclusive), and more early this morning has come to 6.8mm, giving a monthly total to date of 7.6mm.  Plenty more needed.
