What a difference a day, and the wind direction, makes. yesterday's cooler NEly meant it was only 21C at 10am, after a slightly cooler night, then it took all day to heat up, finishing at 30+ (32 in nearest station).

Last night it didn't fall below 20, was above 24 by 10am and 26 by 11, but hasn't made it past 27.9 yet- it's been stuck in the 27s since 1130.

Was hoping for a fourth consecutive 30+ today but that looks unlikely.

Last night didn't drop below 22C here.

Although today's current 27C is much cooler than the previous couple of day's the humidity is more noticeable.

32c here yet again, much hotter than yesterday where we only made 28.5c due to northerly breeze.

That’s three days this hot spell at 32c.

27C here and complete cloud cover with light airs. But you don't have to go too far west in Dorset to find the 21C's. Then it warms up a bit before dropping sharply to 18C in parts of Cornwall according to https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap

Bumping along at 33C here for the past 30 minutes. That tallies with my car thermometer locally, but driving along the Gipping valley just now, it was reading 35C.

Humidity is making it most unpleasant.

Smallest patches of cloud never really threatened this afternoon.

The wind is odd- keeps shifting between S and E or ENE. Temperature has reached 28.9°C.

Humid with large drops of rain but will it become more interesting? No lightning though in this area.

Well after a cloudy day with 19 C as the max, we now have thunder rumbling to the SW of Edinburgh. The Irish Sea storms have expanded NE into Midlothian!

Today was completely boring and uninteresting here in the north of Edinburgh until a short while ago when we had a very short burst of heavy an torrential rain.

Up until then, it had been mostly overcast with some easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea, but with nothing else actually happening.

I haven't been able to get any data from my usual sources at weathercast.co.uk for any of my three local stations since 7am this morning, so I have had to use alternative sources of data for that.

According to those other sources, the really abysmal total of just 12 minutes of sunshine have been recorded for the whole of today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 6pm this evening (that is taken from the actual raw SYNOP data).

Once again, today hasn't even benn the least bit warm here for this time of the year with the temperatures rising no higher than around 18°C here in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 6pm this evening was around 16°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Goodness me John - huge temp contrast from north to south as many parts of the south are struggling to get below 20c by night and are well into the plus +30's by day where as you can't even reach +20c by day!? Would love a swap?!

Still currently +33.0c at LHR (Heathrow) @ 19:00:
