For july the lowest ever recorded daytime high is 7.5C. Good chance of beating that over the next week or so.

These are the projected GFS highs away from high ground:

Thursday: 9.9C (Northern tip of Outer hebridies)

Friday: 9.3C (West mainland scotland near coast)

Saturday: 10.3C (As above)

Sunday: 7.8C (As above)

Monday: 8.7C (As above)

So not far off the all time record on Sunday in W scotland. The key to breaking the record is to get rain falling the entire day.

When you say west of Scotland presumably this is for a low altitude location not up a mountain?

How depressing. Good test to see whether Covid-19 will come back in the winter though I suppose.

Whereabouts exactly? 9.3°C seems an incredibly precise value for the GFS model given the resolution of data available.

The July record low max here is 10C on 14th July 1968 and 5 th July 1978.

I would hope we are not going to see anything as awful as that but one things for sure - far more likely to get close to that record low these days than the record high of 30C

Today's minimax (no mountain) is Baltasound at 12.2C

Not that impressive.

Perhaps lower in England?

Emley Moor might not have got above 11.5c, Bingley at least 12.2c.

12.9c max here  currently 12.6c very poor for July but does happen occasionally.

Fylingdales, North Yorks was the coldest at 11.6c.
Here it was the second coldest July Max I have recorded since moving here in 2014.

10.0C at noon which is the coldest temperature I can ever recall seeing during the middle of the day in July.

We'll see if it can rise any further to avoid equalling the all time Aberdeen record low of 10C. Forecast high was 13C ,which is 5C below average and dreadful for July, but what is being experienced currently is truly in a different league of awful. Absolutely shocking. This would be a below average start to October never mind July.

Yesterday's mean temperature of 10.1C was the lowest in my records going back to 2005 (min 5.7C, max 14.4C). Today will beat that if the max is lower than 11.4C as min was 8.8C. That would also see a new record low max set as my current record is 11.5C on 18th July 2012.

Fylingdales is a remote site 250m up a hill, and close to the north sea.

Official max of 22.2c here yesterday.    Which is as near normal for the time of year as makes no odds

Still quite notable though and Emley Moor and Leeds Bradford  Airport away from the coast were still no more than 12c.

Has been a horrendous start to July around these parts .
