I don't have a rain gauge so it's good to know somebody close by does. That sounds about right for St Albans too. It's been a long rainy event for June in the south of England.

After several months of no rain, the recent repeated sequence of thunderstorms and now todays washout has delivered nearly 80mm this month.

Weve had 25mm today alone, and it still falling.

I suspect this will go down as one of the wettest Junes on my record as we are only just past the mid way stage.

The BBC Louise Lear assured us that everyone's gardens had had a good watering this week but not the case on parts of the SW coast still only on 14 mm since start of May. She promised another inch from the incoming front overnight tonight but doubt we will see more than 5mm out of that.

Quite a big difference between us Jim despite you only living on the other side of Leeds.

We managed to scrape another 1mm yesterday from a couple of beefy showers, so just hit the 90mm for the month.

Not sure how much we'll get overnight tonight but looking at the ECM it's touch and go whether we'll reach the 100mm mark before the end of the month.

It's always good to get to 100mm

I am on 89mm so pretty much consistent with your total.

The grass is greener than I have seen it for a long time.

Funny old year with rain with lots of extremes.

February saw big differences in rainfall totals across Leeds too much higher this side.

It's been a long time since I last had any decent rainfall to report here and what I am reporting just now, still isn't a lot.

Indeed, the rain which has fallen over the last 24 hours is still well short of what is needed in order to alleviate ongoing shortages here in the east of Scotland and with the way that things are going here, it wouldn't surprise me if we had a hosepipe ban in the east of Scotland before too much longer.
