Before I continue, I must make a couple of corrections to the sunshine totals which I have reported in the previous two daily CC threads.
Firstly, I had incorrectly reported in Saturday's thread that a total of 1.9 hours of sunshine had been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank whereas the final total for that day was actually 2.9 hours of sunshine.
Secondly, the total which I reported in yesterday's thread has been corrected upwards in this morning's 6z SYNOP data to 3.9 hours of sunshine for that day, rather than the 3.8 hours which I reported in yesterday's thread.
When all of that is taken into consideration, there has now actually been more sunshine during this month at Edinburgh Gogarbank than the 1981-2010 March Average and this means that regardless of what now happens during the last two days of this month, this month will now go down as a sunnier than average month after all, at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
As far as this morning is concerned, there is a lot of cloud around, but with occasional sunny intervals as well (in other words, our spring borefest goes on with virtually nothing actually happening in this part of the world).
Last night's overnight temperature was 2.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 2.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was around 3°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
