Today is a day which has improved only at a painfully slow rate.
The earlier fog very quickly lifted into mist and low cloud, but that mist has only just recently cleared.
The clouds are now starting to break up slightly but in the end for the second day running, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
That makes today our second completely sunless day of this month and our second sunless day of this spring.
This leaves us still needing a minimum total of at least 6.8 hours of sunshine during the rest of this month, and there are now only 4 days left to that to happen, so time is really beginning to run out now which means that we really need to start getting more sunshine virtually from now on, if we are to finally get over that finishing line.
There has also been some light rain and drizzle during today which has cleared away now, but which has resulted in a total of 0.6 mm of rain being recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank since 9am this morning, along with 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Furthermore, the temperature during today have also been refusing to rise once again. Today's officially recorded maximum temperature was 6.6°C which is less than 1°C above last night's officially recorded minimum temperature.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 6pm this evening remains stuck at around 7°C here in Edinburgh as it has been for the last day or so.
