Elon Musk is mentioned but folks seem to be playing down his involvement and keeping him out of the limelight.

Just an impression. I hope all goes well and does not turn into a cave rescue submarine.

No county (Lincolnshire) has better churches and worse houses. The poorer sort of people wash their clothes with hog's dung, and burn dried cow's dung for want of better fuel; whence comes the Lincolnshire proverb: "Where the hogs shite soap and the cows shite fire".

If you are planning some skywatching look out for noctilucent clouds. Spaceweather.com says: "New data from NASA satellites show that the mesosphere (a layer of Earth's atmosphere near the edge of space) is experiencing record cold. This is causing meteor debris to frost, and noctilucent clouds (NLCs) to spread over Europe and the United States. Another summer of record-low latitude NLCs could be in the offing."

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but Jupiter and Saturn are clearly visible at the moment, later in the night to the South

Reminder: Comet Neowise

If skies are clear there's a naked-eye comet in the pre-dawn sky:

I dont remember Jupiter and Saturn being aligned and clearly visible like this before. Does this happen frequently?

Also, when will Venus come back into view?

Should be back now, this time in the early morning. When anyone in the UK can actually be able to see it, goodness knows!

Seen the comet, it was more obvious than I thought it was going to be. A lovely object.
