The rainfall over the last 24 hours ended a dry spell which lasted for six days. There are now only five days left of this month after today and the outlook for the rest of this month continues to be very dry with any rainfall being most likely to come from showers which are blown in from off the North Sea in any winds from the NE which develop, and that is only likely to happen if the pressure isn't too high as it may well be.

As a result of that, we continue to remain on course for this month to be drier than average in the end which is in line with what I have been predicting on this thread, right throughout this month.

The rainfall over the last 24 hours wasn't really forecast, although there could still be some further light rain during the next 24 hours as well. However, the rainfall amounts continue to be small and remain unlikely to be enough to prevent this month from being drier than average overall in terms if the actual rainfall amounts.

However, this has not been an exceptionally dry month in those terms and if any more official rain days occur during the rest of this month at Edinburgh Gogarbank, this month will actually be wetter than average yet again, in terms of the number of official rain days at both of those stations. Even as it is, we can't really say that this has been any less than an average month overall in this part of the world, in terms of the number of official rain days.

 Rainfall amounts continue to be very small here and the above totals now look like being very close to the final totals for this month, with any further rainfall looking very unlikely before 10am tomorrow morning.

Because of that, those recent very small rainfall amounts now appear to have hammered the final nail in the coffin in terms of our chances of this month being anything other than drier than average at both of those stations in terms of the actual rainfall amounts with the number of official rain days looking set to be around average overall.
