I'm pleased you maintained your snowless record.  The snow we had here today was nothing and I would have happily donated it to you or anyone else if I had the power!

When I went to clear the car this morning there were about 5cm of snow and it wasn't the heavy wet variety I half-expected.  All gone now apart from a few remnants in the shade.

As you are located in the highest part of Cambridgeshire, I thought you would at least get something.

Diddly splat thin covering of slush here in the flatlands.

It seems 100m of altitude is the new minimum requirement for snowfall in southern England.

I have just recorded two mornings at 0900hrs with snow present, on both occasions the depth was officially recorded as TRACE. A truly poor winter in this part of Cumbria for snow

dates with snow at 0900hrs 9th Jan and 13th February

Not a single flake here so a completely snowless meteorological winter looks likely.  The way of the future one feels.

Snowless will certainly the modal average here, it is already in terms of mornings with snow cover, but as with this "winter" it will become so in terms of days with snow or sleet seen to be falling.

Loved the slush fest today, -0.5 in Newmarket today and right across to Bury St edmunds, with 1" of snow, all very pretty - brilliant snow man on the green at Horringer carrot nose, scarf the works... but I want more than this....but it's better than 1989 etc,

That's it now though I think... Bring on the sun after Jorge!!

That was my commute this morning - half-melted big snowflakes hitting the windscreen, some resilient ones still being visible as fat flakes as they approached.

Left me with a sense that another degree cooler (the car thermometer was showing between 2c and 2.5c all the way until onto the M602, when it began to inch up as I approached the Manchester UHI) and they would have made a good snowfall (even if too wet to stick)

No snow here in Edinburgh of course but then, we don't usually get anything in the way of "interesting" weather in this part of the world even when there is plenty of "interesting" weather elsewhere.

Today, that is shown by the fact that it is just plain old rain which we have here, with not even a hint of sleet mixed in with that. At the same time, the rain isn't really coming down all that heavy which in this case, just serves to make this even more of a winter borefest.

The rain has got heavier now, but without any sort of evaporative cooling which would be enough to turn that even the least bit wintry.

I am up in the Lakes at 250m and we had a good covering again yesterday morning. Land over 200m in Cumbria and Yorkshire have had 5 mornings this week with fresh snow cover. It's milder this morning with rain and the snowline is back up to 500m

More snow showers.

Wasnt expecting this, maybe because the wind isnt coming in off the sea. Like blossom in the wind.

All fairly light. But 20p flakes with the odd 50p for good measure. Temps about 6*c.

Air aloft must me frigid

I just cant believe it. Its been 0*c here and rain. Weve had the beast from the east and had nothing....

Give us a south westerly and a temp of 7.2*c and it snows.

I literally cant fathom whats going on.

Only moderate showers, but its not even wet snow. Its blowy floaty snow. Big fat flakes.

Ive never seen anything like this before. Back to sunshine.

Thanks, Greta. Just avoided a snowless winter in injury time.
