I've just noticed that there are two CC threads currently running for today, so I am sure that either DEW or Hungry Tiger (or another mod) will step in before too long to either delete or lock the other thread as it is this one which everyone appears to be using (I am happy to go by that).

Anyway and back on topic, today is yet another continuation of our usual winter borefest with yet more constant grey skies, and with nothing which is even remotely interesting actually happening after a continuation of our long running frost-free horror show, which has now gone on into its 25th day at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Last night's officially recorded minimum temperature was 5.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 5.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was around 6°C here in Edinburgh and right now, I will just be glad to see the back end of this complete non-event that is known as our "winter", especially since we are now only a few weeks away from the start of the meteorological spring.

Dropped to -3C last night with thick fog when I woke up, lifting to a lovely sunny crisp morning. The calm before the storms...

The Sun has broken through quite nicely after a dull start, with the temperature here in Edinburgh up to around 7°C as at 12 noon (there is not yet any data for 1pm this afternoon, for any of my three local stations as I write).

There is still a bit of a breeze which isn't anything like as much as what it has been in recent days, but which will nevertheless still probably be enough to prevent us from getting a frost yet again during tonight (frosts appear to have become something which we never get here any more anyway, with these continuing to be England-only events according to that I have read on this thread so far, from elsewhere in the UK).
