Where is the snow reports' thread!? ha!

Clear 2.0c here in Exeter were some hail showers last night but since then been dry... - thought it was meant to be showery!??

Dartmoor has seen a light covering of snow: - perhaps first covering of snow of winter 19/20. - This wasn't in the forecast, only for showers to 'perhaps turn wintry' over Moors but alas -it's lovely to see Dartmoor get a covering -albeit light).

With the way that this so-called "winter" was going, I was beginning to think that there wasn't going to be a snow reports thread on this forum this time as a result.

However, we did finally at long, long, last get our first snowflakes of this winter here in the north of Edinburgh during last night, although that only came in the form of a bit of sleet and wet snow for a brief period of time before that quickly turned back to rain.

Nevertheless, there is quite a decent covering of snow on the Pentland Hills just now as I write.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

As expected frozen slushy deposits were on car windscreens this morning. I departed for the train with light snow flakes falling. All clear now.

There was snow on the Pennines down to about 250 m this morning which is the lowest I've seen this winter but finally, the first flakes are falling down at 100m now. I can see snow falling out of the window at work. But it is rather pathetic and it's not settling either. The Lakeland fells look very white however. I know where I'd rather be..

Woke up to a thin dusting of prone surfaces. Now big fluffy flakes falling in this shower. Trying to stick to wet surfaces. Temp is 1c. Nice to see after such a snowless winter.

Been snowing for an hour or so now and it has got thicker. Higher up routes are not good for travelling as Cumbria county council webcams can verify.

Just a few flakes here in North Cumbria, poor effort as usual

Long wait for a decent snowfall continues I guess

Left home with slush/hail covering the windscreen and ppn varied throughout the commute between hail, graupel, sleet and snow.

It's an indictment of how crap this winter has been that this merits any noting at all.

Heavy wet snow falling here now, not settling as yet. Further west in the Pennines - West Bradford/ Keighley/Oldham etc there are reports of it settling.

Bizarre, as the snow is hardly deep per the webcam:

Yes, the snow this morning was rather localised and the central belt of Cumbria bore the brunt. Nothing settled here near Penrith however and snow stopped...…...so will have to venture up to Shap to experience the snow at lunchtime!
