Low cloud cover, gloomy, SW wind, intermittent light rain. (8.6mm in a downpour yesterday evening.)

8.2*C; 1001.4mb falling slowly.

I've seen the light!  Yesterday late morning there were a few minutes of sunshine and a patch of blue sky.  Yay!

Then it clouded over and it's been gloomy again since then.

Rather cloudy but there has been a chink of brightness not so long ago, showery rain has given me 4.0 mm so far today. 9.6 c (93% h) but feels cooler than that.

6.9mm of rain here since 1.30pm, of which 6.0mm fell in the space of an hour. The day's total is 8.4mm so far (we also had a heavy shower around 5am) and 11.4mm in the last 24 hours.

I suspect the local roads which were flooded up until a week ago could well flood again in the next day or two.

Snowing heavily for the last 90 mins. Here in the East Ayrshire countryside, 200m above sea level. Wet snow at first but then started accumulating.

Sleet and wet snow is currently falling here in the north of Edinburgh as I write.

Prior to that, an official air frost was briefly recorded at Edinburgh Airport with the temperature dropping to -1°C for a while.

However, the temperatures have now jumped back up to around 3°C here in Edinburgh as at 10pm tonight.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
