The skies are clear here in Edinburgh just now, but out frost-free horror show goes on due to there being too much wind around in the early hours of this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 2.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 2.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 6am this morning was around 3°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Fair with good spells of winter sunshine with the cumulus looking tired and raggedy. However, there is something of a brisk westerly breeze making the current 9.7 c feel quite cool and fresh.

I've noticed the cotoneaster bush in my west-facing front garden is already showing the first green shoots of growth. Spring is on the way!

Rain and hail showers with strong gusty winds at times, big drop in temperature under the hail showers from 7c to 3c in a matter of a few minutes, Today is the first time I've felt cold this winter.
