Rather overcast but with calm winds and thus the current 12.3 c felt quite mild when I just popped out. However, it is also the kind of day where just 1.0 mm of rain so far today has easily made everything all damp again.

A complete write-off of a day here in Edinburgh after a night where the temperatures refused to drop yet again due to there being too much cloud around.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 4.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 5.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today started off on the usual drab and dreary note with very little in the way of actual interesting weather actually happening, until the rain then set in and now, it is absolutely chucking it down as I write. As a result of that, today looks certain to go down as yet another completely sunless day at Edinburgh Gogarbank for the second day running once again.

So far, today's rainfall amounts still haven't amounted to all that much so that a total of just 1.4 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 2pm this afternoon along with just 1.0 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

However, that is already enough to make today only our first official rain day since 11 November 2019 and since it is still raining quite heavily as I write, today's final totals should end up being much higher than what I have reported here.

However, today is slightly milder than of late once again and is already our mildest day at Edinburgh Gogarbank since 5 November 2019 with a temperature of around 9°C as at 2pm this afternoon.

This earlier rainfall produced a total of 6.4 mm of rain at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 5.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 11pm tonight was still at around 9°C here in Edinburgh.
