An almost completely sunny day means that in the end, a total of 6.9 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank which makes today our sunniest day of this month so far.

With that, today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank reached 5.2°C although today was also the first day of this season where the overnight frost from last night failed to clear away from here throughout the entire day.

Now, more frost is already forming  as the temperature at 6pm this evening had already dropped to -2°C here in Edinburgh which means that this looks like being a really cold night ahead as long as the skies continue to remain clear.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Utter GARBAGE yet again. Supposed to be getting to -4C tonight yet the temperature has just flatlined for the past three hours. Stuck above freezing at between +0.4C and +0.8C since 5:30pm

It was exactly the same last night. Clear skies but it took until 5am for it to drop below freezing and it bottomed out at -1C. Real impressive cold for the second half of November

This has turned into the most boring, depressing and frustrating place imagineable for a weather observer. It's just beyond a joke. Where the hell else at 57 degrees north does the temperature struggle to even drop below zero degrees?

Currently 2.2c under clear skies but with a light breeze from the SSE I doubt it will get much lower. High cloud from tomorrow forecast rain is expected to move in later in the night as well.
