10mm already so far today (up to 3pm) brings our November total up to 94mm.  Already the 4th wettest November I've recorded (since 1982) at the halfway stage of the month.

More importantly though, this has now just become the wettest Autumn I've ever recorded with 316mm so far, already surpassing the infamous Autumn 2000 rainfall of 315mm.   Astonishing.

A total of just 0.8 mm of rain fell at Edinburgh Gogarbank during the 24 hour period which ended at 9am this morning, along with just 0.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Since 9am this morning, it has been completely dry at both of those stations.

For Edinburgh Gogarbank, this brings the total for this month to 54.0 mm, the total for this autumn to 229.6 mm and the total for this year to 787.0 mm as at 5pm this evening.

This that a minimum total of 19.8 mm of rain now needs to fall at Edinburgh Gogarbank between now and the end of this month, in order for this month to go down as being wetter than average there overall in terms of the actual rainfall amounts.

For the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, this brings the total for this month to 50.8 mm, the total for this autumn to 236.4 mm and the total for this year to 773.4 mm as at 5pm this evening.

This means that a minimum total of 11.4 mm of rain still needs to fall at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh between now and the end of this month, in order for this month to go down as being wetter than average there overall in terms of the actual rainfall amounts.

This also means that a minimum of 4 official rain days needs to occur at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh between now and the end of this month, in order for this month to go down as being wetter than average there overall in terms of the number of official rain days.

In addition to that, this also means that a minimum of 4 official rain days needs to occur at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh between now and the end of this month, in order for this autumn to go down as being wetter than average there overall in terms of the number of official rain days.

Another wet day in this very wet autumn. Look North's weatherman, Paul Hudson has just said that Wombwell in South Yorkshire has recorded half a years rainfall in the last 45 days.
Each night Look North is reporting from the flooded areas, it's incredible how many people are so badly affected.

We are on the verge of overtaking autumn's 2012 rainfall total for England and Wales then making this autumn the wettest autumn since 2002.

Wettest autumn since 2000 is on the cards.

Thursday's heavy rain event gave 22mm in total here, bringing our November total to 106mm, already the wettest November here since 2009, and not far to go to be the wettest I've recorded.

Also, it is the first time that I've recorded three consecutive months of more than 100mm, going back to 1982.

Autumn rainfall now up to 328mm, only now 2mm short of being the wettest of any season I've recorded, not just the wettest Autumn.

Hi Ian.  I believe totals are now at around 170mm for the month.  Monday presents the next potential rainfall event locally.  Could be another deluge if the depression sits close enough over the near continent.

3.5mm from last night's rain brings our November total to 119mm, meaning this is now the wettest November I've recorded since I started keeping rainfall records in 1982, surpassing the 118mm of November 2000.

So this Autumn, we've had the wettest September and November I've recorded, and the 3rd wettest October.  Just remarkable.
