Thursday was the wettest day for over 2 years here with a total of 52mm, almost our entire average November rainfall in just one day. That on top of 11mm from Wednesday night means that 63mm fell in total from this event. The sheer persistence of the heavy rain right throughout the day and into the night was remarkable.
Has resulted in flooding in some surrounding areas here, although Gainsborough seems to have largely escaped as far as I'm aware.
Also it was the wettest November day I've recorded, and the wettest Autumn day I've recorded. And the 5th wettest day here in the last 37 years. Staggering really, considering the top 4 wettest days here are all Summer months only.
So our November total is now up to 71mm, already well past our average of 55mm. Looks like the current record for November here (118mm in 2000) is definitely under threat.
Autumn total now up to 293mm, getting very close to beating the wettest Autumn recorded here, (315mm in 2000).
