Finally, we have what we just need in this part of the world and that is a nice, bright and sunny start to this morning after a cold night.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 2.8°C which already makes last night the coldest night of this autumn so far there, but it was even colder than that at both of my other three local stations here in Edinburgh.

Last night's lowest hourly temperature reading was 2.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and just 1°C at Edinburgh Airport.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was between 3°C and 4.1°C across my three local stations.

+2.9C was our minimum - too much wind for ground frost except perhaps the most sheltered spots.

12th consecutive day of repulsive, disgusting vile rubbish.

Beyond horrible with lots of cloud, ridiculously unpleasant wind and amongst the mildest places in the country when it should be one of the coldest. Pathetic min of 4.5C. Nowhere near even the coldest of yet another rank autumn.

Utter garbage and shows how winter can be written off already because if this was winter we'd barely have mustered a dusting and struggled to get below freezing. Another epic fail of a northerly.

Widespread ground frost. Zero degrees recorded at Glasgow Airport overnight. Early for even these parts.

I guess that we we can therefore refer to that, as this season's first "Winter is over" post already.

Clear blue sky with very occasional fair-weather cumulus and still some strength in the sun; fresh NW wind; dry.

13.3*C (minimum 6.9*C at 7.45am); 49%RH.

1015.9mb steady after rising rapidly.

The first morning of the season that I have had to clear the condensation from the windows of the car before driving away, but it's now a lovely day.  Better make the most of it, as the next days look changeable.

Chilly day with clear skies and a nagging breeze.
My garden is quite shaded at this time of year, but the temperature has only just hit 10.0c

A bright day with good sunny spells and scattered "fairweather" cumulus, an improvement on the past few days despite the more "seasonal" 13.9 c, 55% h & mod N breeze.

1.2 mm since 12 am due to rain lingered on in the small hours last night, so technically I have reported rain for today.
