It's Friday 13th!! - Unlucky for some and this time is no exception!!

Currently 19.0c here in Exeter at 12am. Feeling really humid, still and uncomfortably close as well as sticky!!

This is some 3c above the September's daytime max and it's over night! Just sickening!!!

Least it's not raining but i feel Autumns are becoming more benign and boring!!

Today is Friday the 13th, but today might not be so unlucky as far as our weather is concerned.

During yesterday, there was more in the way of sunshine as the day went on but in the end, a total of just 2.9 hours of sunshine was recorded during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

There was the odd splash of rain during yesterday, especially during the latter part of the morning and towards lunchtime, but that only resulted in a total of 0.2 mm of rain being recorded for yesterday in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Just to show how the mornings are drawing in now, the Sun is only just in the process of rising as I write, but that is now taking us into a nice and sunny start to this morning for a change.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank won't be confirmed until the SYNOP data for 7am comes in but across my three local stations, the lowest minimum hourly temperature reading was 9°C as recorded at Edinburgh Airport, so last night was slightly colder than of late but not unduly so.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 6am this morning was around 10°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Have the day off and was meant to be sunny. However in this utterly dire climate of constant misery and despair there is no such thing as a good day any more.

Turned to complete garbage already as masses of vile cloud have appeared from nowhere. Temp just 11.9C having fallen from 12.4C.

Beyond a joke what we have to endure here and all the worse that you can't even rely on forecasts for just an hour ahead.

Sunny breaks and partial cloud as winds swing around to as a light NE breeze. Still a fairly balmy 20.3 c & 72% h though, absolutely no need for any indoors heating at all.

East Kent is being somewhat unlucky with the stratsocumulus stuff as this 1 pm satellite image shows . . .

That is unfortunate. Just up the road in London it is mostly cloudless barring rather a lot of contrails.

I'm enjoying the warmth, as in two days' time I'll be arriving in northern Iceland to a decent chance of snow showers!
