As is usually the case, there's not much happening here in Edinburgh just now in terms of our weather. This morning started off on a largely overcast note, but the Sun is now getting through a lot more with the skies now being that much clearer with only a small amount of cloud around.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 9.9°C and the temperature at 7am this morning was around 10°C.

Bright with hazy sunshine via extensive cirrostratus. At 20.4 c is actually down on this time yesterday but the lighter S breeze, lack of thick cloud and a slightly higher 70% h mean it is feeling more warmer for it anyway.

After a fairly bright start to today, it has now just started raining here in Edinburgh after it had been become increasing dull and overcast as the day went on.

So far as at 4pm this afternoon, a total of 4.6 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank, although I will be surprised if there are any more additions to that total during the rest of today despite there still being around 4 hours to go until sunset as I write.

It also got very windy for a while during this afternoon with maximum gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank getting up to 35.4mph from the SSW.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was around 18°C here in Edinburgh.

Ended up with a fine afternoon with near unbroken sunshine. Today as a whole turned out more sunnier than I thought where it was easily warm enough to sunbathe in my west-facing front porch.

Currently 20.1 c from a peak of 21.9 at 3 pm. 67% h, light S breeze.

Single blackcurrant left dangling; 2 or 3 shrivelled redcurrants, too small to use as dried fruit. Most of these are frozen from the June harvest.

There was a little bit of rain here during this evening, but that was very intermittent and patchy with even some further appearances by the Sun in amongst that.

That has now cleared away after having resulted in only a very small amount of recorded rainfall here. This means that a total of 1.2 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 10pm tonight along with just 0.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Furthermore, a total of 4.8 hours of sunshine was recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank where today's maximum temperature was 19.1°C which is actually a bit warmer than of late.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was around 14°C, so tonight is also warmer than of late.
