Once again as has been the case throughout this week, our weather is turning out to be both better and warmer than what the forecasts have been telling us.
Today started off on a sunny note. It didn't take long for more in the way of cloud to turn up as this morning went on, and there was even a brief shower of rain just before lunchtime.
However, this has resulted in just 0.2 mm of rain being recorded from that at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and nothing at all at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Furthermore, this afternoon has been mostly sunny once again until now with the result that a total of 5.3 hours of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 2pm this afternoon so with the next few days looking fairly sunny (though possibly showery) with a possible further improvement next week, our chances of a sunnier than average month this time still look very much alive and well just now.
The wind has picked up once again and was gusting up to 36.7mph from the WSW at Edinburgh Gogarbank at 2pm this afternoon. It is also slightly cooler than yesterday but once again, it is still a bit warmer than what it was forecast to be which means that we once again can't rule out the possibility of late afternoon rally of the temperatures in that sunshine up to 20°C or 21°C just like what happened during yesterday.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 2pm this afternoon was around 18°C.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
