So I take it won't be reaching 40 c then? I'm quite happy with my own personal 100 F experience, even if it was just for a very brief moment. Now 33.1 c with high cloud starting to move in.
37.6C at Northolt so I don't think the record is necessarily dead.
And now 38.1C confirmed in Cambridge.
Reports beginning to appear that it has been called as the "second hottest day on record".
It's going to be close Cambridge 38.1c
Kew 37.9c
Heathrow 37.9c
Writtle 37.7c All 4 pm temps. if these locations are still sunny we can still do this
38.1C Cambridge
I think Cambridge is going to get the all-time record in the next hour.
A great call from you yesterday Brian. You said it would be a miss by a fraction and it would appear you have called that spot on.
As I've just said on Twitter it could still go either way. I'm not bagging this one by any means.
Brave call!
38.1C in Cambridgeshire is exactly what I went for in the N**w****** competition. I went for 38.3C here as it had already been taken!
Fairly pleased with my 37.8C prediction I made on Monday
Who's in Cambridge is it still sunny?

Leeds on the up again
I went for 38.2 in Heathrow.
Northolt and Cambridge could bag this!

I think there's still time towards Cambridge. I'm well off the record here to the east at 35.3C but the temperature has gone up 0.5C in the last ten minutes.
Lakenheath also above 37C
Latest from Cambridge is 38.1C up to 1600 BST. As things stand the second highest temperature ever recorded in the UK - second only to Faversham in 2003.
For the TWO competition three people guessed 38.1C
Howham, SJV and tractor boy.
38.1C in Cambridgeshire is exactly what I went for in the N**w****** competition.
So did I! (In London though)
For the TWO competition three people guessed 38.1CHowham, SJV and tractor boy.
Thanks, couldn't remember whether I'd guessed the same here.
33C here now after a record 35C max. Humidity on the rise as the skies cloud over.
