Overnight rain has now turned more showery in nature here in Edinburgh.

As far as I can see, it doesn't appear to be raining just now as I write, but it is still overcast with a number of showers still dotted around the area.

In the end, a total of 17.8 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 15.0 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. That makes yesterday the wettest day of this month so far at both of those stations by quite a considerable amount.

In addition to that, a total of 5.8 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 10.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This means that today will now go down as yet another official rain day at both of those stations as a result.

With all of that rain around, last night was warm and humid once again, so last night's overnight temperature was 15.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This once again, makes last night the warmest night of this year so far at all three of my local stations.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was 15.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

EDIT:

It has now just started raining yet again as I write.

This morning has brought some more very heavy but very brief showers, but it has also brightened up quite a lot at times as well with the occasional burst of sunshine. The result of this though, is that a total of 18 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

This morning's showers have been very heavy at times, but they have been so brief that they have actually added very little to today's rainfall totals here since my last report on this thread. This means that today's rainfall total so far as at 12 noon was 7.6 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and at least 10.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

In addition to that, the temperatures are also generally refusing to rise just now and so the temperature at 12 noon was 17.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18° at Edinburgh Airport and 18.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
