When I first woke up this morning, everything had looked quite promising to begin with as there was a lot of clear sky and only small amounts of cloud.
When I then got up not long afterwards though, I then looked out to see that it was raining outside with any clear sky only being to the east of here in the distance. Indeed, it is still raining here in Edinburgh just now as I write.
As for yesterday, a total of 2.6 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 2.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
I don't have all of the latest data for the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and the data from SEPA only shows that it is would dry there up until 6am this morning. However, a total of 0.4 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 7am this morning.
This shortage of available data for the botanic gardens in Edinburgh means that I can only report that last night's overnight minimum temperature was around 6°C and that the temperature at 7am this morning was around 8°C.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
