Overcast here in Edinburgh as the "spring" borefest which began yesterday goes on.

However, yesterday was a day which at long, long last was the first completely dry day of both this month and this spring at both Edinburgh Gogarbank and the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. If the latest forecasts are correct as well, it looks as though there will plenty more of these dry days to come over the coming days.

Meanwhile, the temperature at midnight was 6.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 6°C at Edinburgh Airport and 5.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

There was some brightness to begin with, but the borefest goes on as we have once again, descended into a dull and overcast nothingness with nothing which is even remotely interesting in terms of our weather actually happening.

The result of this is that nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 5.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 5°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 7.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Broken low cumulus-like clouds with intermittent sunshine, light W breeze, dry.

Looks like another nice day - I might even get out in the garden, as the weeds (especially cuckoo pint) are growing merrily already.

This morning brought us a shower of rain when I was out and about. It didn't last for long and wasn't enough for anything to be registered as actual rainfall at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, but this was enough for a total of 0.2 mm of rain to be recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 1pm this afternoon.

Apart from that, this morning has generally been cloudy once again. It did brighten up a bit more towards lunchtime, but there is still a lot of cloud about and so, a total of just 42 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 1pm this afternoon.

However, today is milder than what it was yesterday and the temperature at 1pm this afternoon was 10.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

An uneventful day with more in the way of cloud than brightness, but nice when the sun does pop out once in a while, like a few minutes ago. But there also has been a short spell of drizzle at about 12 pm but almost missed it by blinking.

Just like yesterday, this afternoon has descended into another dull and overcast nothingness with constant grey skies and with nothing which is even remotely interesting in terms of our weather actually happening.

The result of this is that the rather abysmal total of just 42 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far as at 4pm this afternoon with nothing at all in that department since 1pm this afternoon.

Today's maximum temperature was 11.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which actually makes today, the warmest day of this spring so far at all three of my local stations despite the lack of sunshine.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 10.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Our dull and overcast spring borefest goes on and in the end, the really abysmal total of just 42 minutes of sunshine was recorded for the whole of today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

In addition to that, the wind has also picked up once again and was gusting up to 31.1mph from the WSW at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8pm this evening.

Nevertheless, it is mild and the temperature at 8pm this evening was 9.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
