I should too!  I’m going to Goa again on 18th Feb and we all know what happened when I went last year!  1st March!  Airport closures and flight delays!

I wonder how much discrepancy there is now between  the provisional Hadley figures and GW's calculations?

The provisional seems weirdly high to me, as I've got a local mean of 4.6*C to 26th and it's not like we've had cold focused across southern areas lately. If anything I've noticed it being colder north of me in the usual fashion!

The colder weather this coming week may knock near half a degree Celsius off the CET.

Yes I agree SC!  GW’s figures also show that to be the case and he’s never far of the mark.  I think it’s odd that Hadley always adjusts at month end.  I know there’s an explanation but you’d think they’d want to be more accurate and employ GW to apply his calculations!  Although I’m glad we’ve got him!

I'm wondering how long that Bordon site has been reporting. I'd imagine that it can only be a year or two, as otherwise an implied long-term January mean of 7.84 seems absurdly high.

July 2007 For his start up. I only do the last 6 Years. Because that is when I had my first weather station and started keeping my records. I do state sometimes that is when I take records from.

Thanks. If that is the Bordon near Alton in Hampshire - which is the only one that I know of - then I suspect that there might be something wrong somewhere, either with the thermometer, the screen or that it's in a very enclosed site. That anomaly seems well out of line with anything from any other site.

It is the site very near the Camp. I  shall be using Linford site which has A VantageVue Pro2 From February.

I know the experts in this thread expect a substantial downwards correction, but that's a disappointingly high figure. I was expecting/hoping it to be close to 4.0c by now, with a downwards correction toward the mid-3's

With a finishing figure of 3.3c you mean!

Actually, I’m surprised it isn’t lower.

A mild start to January saw a mean of 5.5 around 16th so from there with no easterly very hard to get as low as 3.3. Something around 4.2 my best guess but may be lower, depending on corrections.
