For the 3rd day in a row we have had warm sunny spells here in london for much of the day and yet the Met Office App shows cloudy conditions all day. Surely they cant get it wrong three days in a row?

After a promising start to today, the clouds have thickened up once again and caused this afternoon to descend into yet another dull and overcast nothingness with yet more in the way of constant grey skies and little else actually happening.

The end result of this is that a total of just 2.0 hours of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon, but with nothing at all in the way of any recorded sunshine since 1pm today.

Today's maximum temperature was 18.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 18°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.7°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so it was warmer than what it was yesterday but with a maximum temperature which fell well short of that 21°C mark which the BBC were forecasting for here today.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 17.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

In the Lakes and 4th day in a row with cloud down to 200m and steady drizzle......and still the National BBC forecast at 1.30pm spouts "Some cloud around and some brighter spells and feeling warm and humid. The odd drizzly shower....what!!!! They are talking about bloody London again😫😫😫😫

Vile day. Dull, overcast , depressing. Max of 16.7C and only 13.3C now. The horror second half of summer keeps on getting worse

Another depressingly dull and overcast end to yet another day here in Edinburgh and the end, a total of just 2.0 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank with nothing at all since 1pm this afternoon.

That is better than what we have had during any of the last few days, but this is still yet another very poor total within this exceptionally dull month of August which we are continuing to experience IMBY. This is particularly disappointing since it was all looking so promising for a while during this morning and even up until lunchtime.

It is however, slightly warmer than what it was at this time last night and so, the temperature at 9pm this evening was 15.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 15.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
