Well, it's not up to the usual standard (depths in a 'normal' year get to at least 4 times this, though haven't had a normal year for a few years!), but here are some snaps from an extended lunchbreak around and about the N Pennines today:

It’s good to see some photos of the recent snow! I particularly like the fifth photo (with the signpost) and the road closed one.

Thanks, doc.

They are my favourites too (the signpost says "footpath" 😛 ) but I didn't have time for quality-control!   Drifts were thigh-high, although I was on the tops, so a lot had simply been blown off.

It looks great. Although the road closed onemakes me want to and see why (and conjures up visions of snowy wastelands)! A kind of magical unknown.

Nice photos Nick!  I like the ‘road closed’ one too!  You’d never know it was a road if the sign wasn’t there!

It's the road I always go down to get the views - around 100m down it there is a single space where a car fits. It's a long way along that road before you reach the next village. I've got other pics of that road being closed. These are from 2013 in more typically N Pennine snow.depths:

Worryingly, this was the way back (3 miles). Not sure I'd do that again now I have an automatic rather than a manual!
