  Yes!  Totally!  Thanks SC!

I did actually think (hope) my 17.2c guess might be too low but I didn't want to jinx it altogether!  I'd be very happy to get a record high CET and be 3c out with my guess.

It is the NOAA analogues that are messing with my mind - there is a strong signal for a month in the 14 to 16 range* but the charts for our location do not indicate that as it stands. Maybe this is one of these occasions where the broad pattern fits but our hot ridge is the narrow anomaly. Doubt it will be clearer two days from now.

* the sub 14C horrors of '56 and '86 appear too.

Haven't done this for ages, but I think I'll have a go this time... something tells me it'll be warm but not amazingly hot, so 17.3 °C for me, please.

I think August will be a thundery month at times, punctuated by several hot spells, leading to another classic temperature wise.

I'm going to go for a well above average 18.5 degrees please, although rainfall above average due to the thundery outbreaks.

This will wrap up an excellent summer 2013.

Hope people are making the most of it - We won't be getting many as good as this over the next decade or two, IMO...

Still haven't decided what I'm going for for August 2013. Is proving a very tricky month, though above average seems certain - Question is, just warm or really hot?

Not sure if this was tongue-in-cheek or not but there's no way you or anyone else can tell what our future Summers will be like. It wasn't long ago when the experts were saying we would never see significant snow again in this country. The UK has been unlucky to have had a run of poor summers recently as often close by in Europe it was very hot.
