So, here it is guys and gals. For the 12 weeks, commencing September 6th, we will be running a competition on TWO. There are some very good prizes available with a weather theme. These have been kindly donated by Alistair at Weather Shop in conjunction with Oregon Scientific. The prizes have a monetary value of around £600! Check out the superb site by clicking the link or logo below:

                                              www.weathershop.co.uk

The rules and criteria for taking part are detailed below, so get registering. Please reply to the thread in the Weather forum with one word only "YES" to confirm you will take part. Any other off topicness will be deleted. There will also be an open thread in the News And Competitions forum for any queries.

Rules and regulations:

1) To predict the maximum and minimum weekly temperature in each of 7 locations across the UK. These locations will be the same each week. The figures will be taken from the Weather Online site. The locations are:

London-Heathrow

Filton

Birmingham

Manchester

Newcastle-AP

Sennybridge

Aberdeen/Dyce

2) The competition will run for 12 weeks starting Monday 6th September.

There is a minimum number of posts required to take part. You must have made at least 75 posts on TWO by the time the competition starts. If you haven't made that number yet you can still register right now, but it will be up to you to make sure you reach 75 posts by midnight on 6th September. Anyone not reaching that figure wont be allowed to take part.

3) At the end of the 12 weeks you will drop your worst two weekly results. This way it means you can afford to miss one or two weeks, or have a couple of nightmares and still be in with a chance of winning

4) Points will be awarded based on the closest guessed degree to the correct figure. Whole figures only please. 19c, 20c, 21c, etc. anything from, and including .5 upward will be rounded up, so if the max temp for Filton was 22.5c maximum points will be awarded to anyone guessing 23c. Anything below -5 will be rounded down Points structure is as follows:

Spot on: 10 Points

For every degree you are out you will lose a single point down to a minimum of zero points.

5) If you miss a week your score will be zero for that week, but bear in mind you will drop your two worst results at the end, so don't give up.

6) All entries must be in by 11:59pm on the Sunday of the week preceding.

7) We will keep a league table and it will be updated weekly. There will be weekly winners announced. Each week anyone who places 1st, 2nd or 3rd will have a gold, silver or bronze medal attached to their signature for the duration of the following week.

8) Finally, Admin's decision is final on all matters. Anyone who thinks there may be an error will contact an Admin through the PM system.

So, to the prizes as kindly donated by UK Weather Shop. They are as follows:

1st Prize = WMR200 Weather Station

2nd Prize = WMR100 Weather Station

3rd Prize = WMR80 Weather Station

I'm sure you'll agree these are superb prizes! So, what are you waiting for? Get registering!
