Glad you're suitably impressed, Keith. Here's something nearer to home.... 4/8/2022

Space Weather....DARK PLASMA EXPLOSION ON THE SUN: Earlier today, the sun hurled a plume of relatively cool, dark plasma into space. Traveling faster than 1.3 million mph, the plume tore through the sun's atmosphere, producing a CME that could sideswipe Earth later this week. Minor to moderate geomagnetic storms are possible beginning Aug. 17th. Developing story @ Spaceweather.com.https://spaceweather.com/Roger

Nope, nothing at all here in Sheffield. Of course, it was also cloudy.
I have seen a good aurora in Lincolnshire, but many years ago when driving north on an unlit road far from light pollution and with good seeing. It was obvious enough for me to decide to stop and have a good look. Brilliant.

So 50 years on, and we are still struggling to even launch a bloody rocket thanks to all the woke "elf and safety" rules nowadays
This is what happens when you try and send a female to the Moon - God intervenes

No She doesn't. And you've been a very naughty boy too!

China will beat them to it and put a female on the Moon first.
You would think after 50 years the rockets would have got a lot faster
Why cant they use nuclear power?
I was born too late for the Apollo era so I want to see some people on the moon! We've waited long enough. However the "screw it, let's do it" attitude of the 1960s is long gone. (And yes I know that is largely a good thing, but it doesn't half slow things down!)
I was around 13 to 15 yrs old when I began collecting info on the Apollo missions to the point it became my school project. One time I had pages and centre page pull outs from the Daily Mirror that got damaged beyond repair. So I hopped on a bus or two, to Fleet Street Daily mirror offices and purchased another copy. I often went to the Science museum and they had all sorts going on after they landed on the moon (which I might add I watched live) and they had a seated area where they showed film, a run-through of the takeoff, landing, etc to the music Classical Gas

To dangerous.
Think it's more to do with the challenger seal failure "failure of the two redundant O-ring seals in a joint in the shuttle's right solid rocket
booster". There were to many chances taken in the rocket programs of the 60's and later with the shuttle, and we haven't been given alien
the tech they have at Roswell 😉 hence no progess
Did I legit just see a shooting star in Motherwell or is that something crashing out the sky? pic.twitter.com/DBQh8zXjnT— Rhiannon Hayes (@RhiannonHayes12) September 14, 2022
