There appears to be no shortage of sunshine here in Edinburgh just now, although a total of just 5.6 hours of sunshine has actually been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm BST (16:00 UTC) this afternoon.

However, it is very windy with today's highest wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 36.8 mph from the west as at 5pm BST (16:00 UTC) this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the temperature as at 5pm (16:00 UTC) was only a very disappointing 15°C after reaching a maximum value of around 16°C here in Edinburgh, which isn't even the least bit warm for this time of the year.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Used to be that the weather got worse when it got cooler now it gets better

Lots of sun today and actually not that much cooler than during the week with a max of 19.2C. Good to be seeing more sun at the weekend than during the week for a change

Only drawback was the wind which just won't give up this year.

Sunshine for this month has now surpassed the entire monthly totals for the Junes of 2007, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2020 despite the cloudier week just gone. Speaks volumes about the horrors we've been subjected to over the past 15 years
