But that doesn’t explain why the PM’s with predictions haven’t been opened.

Does an orange star shaped thing in the top left hand of the message mean it’s unopened?  If so, GW hasn’t opened my May prediction either and I sent it on 23rd April as I was going away.

We need to decide what we’re going to do about sending June predictions.  I’m all for posting them.  I agree they should be PM’d to be validated as well but GW’s inbox will likely be full.  We could PM them to Hungry Tiger, who’s a Moderator, if he agrees.

I'll help out on a short term basis to keep the competition running until GW resurfaces.

If everyone could PM me with their original May selection and their June prediction I'll post the usual data asap.

Please send both numbers on the same PM so my mailbox doesn't overflow.

To maintain integrity, my own June prediction will be posted directly into the thread tomorrow.

I went for 12.75c in May which looks low.

That would be great!  Thank you Frank!  I’ll PM both my May and June figures to you.  I don’t like to step on GW’s toes, as this is his baby, but I’m sure he’ll appreciate it too!

Yes thanks for stepping in Frank - I went 12.65 in May so it seems there are a lot of us in this (low) area!

UPDATE

I've so far received 23 predictions for June of which 21 provided their May prediction. I've sent a PM to the other 2.

There were 35 entries as of April.

Due to the fact everyone may not be aware of this month's arrangements, I propose leaving the window for entries open until the end of tomorrow, penalty free, unless there are strong objections.

The May predictions received so far will be posted shortly

PM'd you my guess Frank. Good of you to step in.

As for the May CET, I'm glad there has been a bit of a drop in the final week, as first it has helped out with my prediction slightly. Second, it wasn't a month that really felt like it deserved a notably high CET. It has lacked any proper daytime warmth.

That seems correct Martin. If you look at the second row of your link's May data it lists 13.1

The diagnostic page shows 13.1 "provisional to the 31st", but with the new version in place I'm guessing there won't be the traditional downward adjustment.
