Some strong rumbles and flashes built up from 7am and maxed out about 8am or so. Now passing to the NE. Typical glancing blow on this prone corner. A couple of mm of welcome rain. |

No sign yet of these homegrown severe thunderstorms, but that lot over France does appear to heading northwards. Some lightning in there but looking more like what arrived here last night.

Sun is starting to break through which might fire up some convection I suppose. |

The thunder storm we had last night wasn't too bad, plenty of lightning and loud thunder, the dogs woke me so I may of missed it otherwise. Temps have risen over the last hour and there's some rumbling going on south of us here, could in for a little bit more. |

Some impressive anvils way to the west north west earlier but as is often the case here we're in the sweet spot for staying dry. The French stuff appears to be dissipating if that's the right term.

Just had a Loud clap of thunder overhead which has spooked one of our dogs, just the one bang so far though. Edit, A couple more flashes and bangs and we now have purple clouds, looks weird and spooky. Edited by user 24 July 2021 20:12:05(UTC)

Very much a non event considering the yellow warnings and fire talk of flooding. Very few showers around this area today looking at the radar. A grand total of 1mm of rain since midnight. |

Heard a few rumbles of thunder in the last 30mins, or so, here in Dartford, not that close though. |

Has rumbles to our south ealier and now getting rumbles to the east. No rain here yet, but suspect the one to our east is going to give us a direct hit

Absolute cloud burst here in Chichester....reports of lots of minor local flooding...several claps of thunder....most impressive aspect was that it was bone dry one second and the next second monsoon like conditions....never witnessed heavy rain like that start so suddenly and dramatically!

Grim ,rainy ,and just 20 degrees Sounds exactly like a typical summer pattern then with temps close to average and the risk of thunderstorms. Not sure how anyone in the SE could describe today's setup as autumnal |

Wow just had a 10 minute downpour that saw rain rates between 100-125mm an hour dumping easily an inch with frequent lighting. It's been years since i last saw such intense rainfall lasting so long.
