I wouldn’t worry too much about light pollution as a good display would be viewable even in cities.

It was bright enough to see faintly soon after sun went down, and quite high in the sky - it wasn't dark enough to see more than a handful of brightest stars when I took the shot

See NCs once this year (only because I had 1 chance of seeing it so far), but saw it several times last Summer. All were on northern horizon, but the one on your photo was extending southwards.

Yes I saw them again but closer to horizon than previously and some sea-related cloud was obscuring them.

Saw these driving north through Wiltshire last night.
First time I have seen noctilucent clouds, and they were brighter than I thought they would be.
Strange and beautiful.
